Twice a week, your form time is dedicated to exploring captivating books. This is your chance to dive into new worlds, expand your vocabulary, and enhance your comprehension skills—all while discovering the joy of reading. Whether it’s an action-packed novel, an inspiring biography, or a thought-provoking non-fiction book, there’s something for everyone. 

To enhance your reading experience, our expert readers bring books to life, demonstrating fluent and expressive reading. We also use visualisers to help everyone follow the text easily, while reading rulers keep your focus sharp, ensuring smooth and accurate reading. 

This programme is about more than just reading—it’s about expanding your horizons, developing critical thinking, and preparing you for success in every subject and beyond. The more you read, the more you grow—so embrace the journey and discover the power of words!  

We are absolutely delighted to unveil the Chris Stocks Library, a dynamic and inspiring space designed exclusively for you! Named in honour of Chris Stocks, a dedicated champion of education, this library has been created to ignite your curiosity, spark your creativity, and foster a lifelong passion for reading. 

At the grand opening, Ruth Stocks, Chris Stocks’ wife, had the esteemed privilege of inaugurating the library. The event was a momentous occasion, attended by local councillors, school governors, staff, and students, all gathering to celebrate this remarkable addition to our academy. Guests shared powerful insights into the transformative power of reading, highlighting how books can expand your knowledge, shape your future, and open doors to endless opportunities. Many of you eagerly explored the fresh collection of books, ready to embark on new literary adventures.
