Choosing GCSE options can feel like a daunting process, so we try and do all we can to help students make the right choices for them so that they can develop the skills, knowledge, and qualities that will allow them to make successful choices for their future career pathways.
In preparation for choosing their options, students participate in a range of CEAIG activities designed to ensure they can make informed choices about their future career pathways.
Year 9 students should gather as much information as possible about the different options available and discuss their thoughts with parents, carers, tutors, and subject teachers.
As we approach the time of year when students will select their options, we provide a range of assemblies with Q&A as well as more bespoke support for those students who are uncertain about their choices. Our Year 9 Parents’ Evening and Options presentation evening provides a further opportunity for parents/carers to speak to subject specialists regarding their child’s next steps.
