This morning, students at Irlam and Cadishead Academy are celebrating as they receive their GCSE results.
This year, the percentage of students who achieved a Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths rose to 69% with results increasing across the board.
Among those celebrating were:
· Megan with 5 grade 9, 2 grade 8, 1 grade 7, 1 L2D*;
· Kaysey with 2 grade 9, 4 grade 8, 2 grade 7;
· Imogen with 2 grade 9, 2 grade 8, 2 grade 7, 1 grade 5;
· Sarah with 3 grade 9, 5 grade 8, 1 L2D*;
· Jess with 2 grade 9, 2 grade 8, 4 grade 7, 1 grade 5;
· Leen with 2 grade 8, 5 grade 7, 2 grade 6;
· Liya with 2 grade 7, 4 grade 6, 1 grade 5, 1 L2D;
· Vinny with 2 grade 8, 2 grade 6, 2 grade 5, 1 L2D, 1 L2M;
· Joseph with 4 grade 7, 2 grade 6, 1 grade 5, 1 L2D, 1 L2M;
· Jesus with 1 grade 8, 2 grade 7, 2 grade 6, 2L2M.
· Megan: “I’m really happy. I’m so pleased with my 9 in Maths.”
· Imogen: “I’m really happy and so proud. The hard work has paid off.”
· Leen: “I’m actually so, so happy with what I got.”
· Joseph: “I’m so happy with my results, especially with my Maths. I worked really hard for it.”
Commenting on the day, Chris Leader, Principal at Irlam and Cadishead Academy, said:
“I am so very pleased for our Year 11 students who are celebrating today. They have all worked incredibly hard and have committed themselves to achieving their very best.
“With these results under their belt they can proceed to the next stage of their education or into the workplace having set themselves up for success as young adults.
“It is always sad to say goodbye to a cohort of students who have contributed so much to the school but we are all extremely proud of them and wish them well for the future”.
